The overarching goal of behavioral therapy is to address and discuss the problematic behaviors in a safe space, before then coming up with practical strategies to replace those less-desirable behaviors with more healthy ones.
During your initial consult, your behavioural therapist will begin compiling a treatment plan for your unique concerns and goals. This may include using one, or multiple, types of behavioral therapy.
The four distinct types of behavioral management therapy are:
1) Cognitive behavioral therapy. This type of therapy targets maladaptive patterns of action and thoughts. 2) Cognitive behavioral play therapy. This type of treatment is primarily geared toward children.
